Good morning and happy Wednesday! Could this be my favorite newsletter edition yet?
As the LA art fairs kick off today, I am pleased to share more highlights I discovered. Additionally, I like to share with my subscribers early previews of artists who have upcoming presentations this spring in New York. It is important to view as many examples as possible of an artist’s work and become familiarized with their practice, so that my clients can make educated acquisitions when the exhibition or fair opens.
Please always ask me for more examples of available artworks, detail and scale images; usually I can share a video if you are unable to view the work in person. My long time subscribers will notice I often bring back artists into the newsletter, as I enjoy following their practice and celebrating their successes (and very often increases in retail since first featuring their work).
I would be remiss as a BXMA trustee and gala committee host if I did not mention purchasing tickets to the Bronx Museum of Art 2025 Annual Gala + Art Auction. Tickets start at $1,250 and after-party tickets are just $150. It will be an incredibly chic evening at Tribeca Rooftop on Monday, April 7th honoring the remarkable artists FUTURA 2000, Ebony G. Patterson, and Abbott Stillman. I hope you will join me and so many artists and art patrons in celebrating this tremendous institution!
Thank you to my paid subscribers, who have and will receive more updates on my other projects, including first look at the new exhibition at People’s next month, an artist-interview podcast, a behind-the-scenes tour of Christie’s auction house, tailored gallery walks in Tribeca and the Lower East Side, gala table discounts for the BXMA Acquisitions Committee, and Upstate New York curatorial projects!
